These photos show some work in progress to a Grade II Listed house in Wroxton, Banbury. Work involves refurbishment to the original house and conversion of the connected barns into a new Kitchen/Living space.
The work included a new insulated floor to the main house with underfloor heating. This new floor helps to retain the character of the original house with the salvaged limestone floor finish, as well as providing much needed modern comfort of efficient heating throughout the ground floor areas.
Part of the approved works included removing a 1970s blockwork fireplace that was built into the original inglenook fireplace. During the process of removing the blockwork an original bread oven was also revealed. With a salvaged bread oven door, this type of detail helps to bring the character of the original house back.
The outbuildings are currently being converted.
